The construction industry is currently facing a development leap where the change agent is spelled digitalization. You will join the Group function “Finance & IT”, which leads NCC´s strategic development and major change programs in the business. Finance & IT is NCC’s development and delivery function for IT as well as operations development and research & innovation. We are a Nordic organization working together closely under one common management. Cooperation between units is key for us to deliver value to NCCs business areas, and therefore we have adapted an Agile team-based setup with focus on collaboration, people and efficient delivery and development.

 

Your role and responsibilities

As an Enterprise Architect you’ll be key in guard-railing and influencing the strategic direction, accelerating development decisions while securing a fit-for-purpose and robust IT backbone for our business. You ensure that NCC’s application, information, integration and IT infrastructure landscapes are optimized to enable our capabilities and support the efficient use of information in our business processes. You’ll leverage your holistic perspective and coordinating abilities in close collaboration with business and IT roles in your specific domain and in different development initiatives. Throughout our development lifecycle your key responsibilities are:

Strategy development

  • Assessment of current states, technology trends & opportunities
  • Translating business needs and objectives to future states
  • Identifying high-level gaps and demands on capability improvements
  • Guiding principles & procedures for solution development.

 

Demand management

  • Capture and detail demands into actionable improvements on processes, information, people and technology
  • Evaluate and shape demands with focus on business value, feasibility and architectural fit
  • Turning demands into prioritized initiatives on roadmaps that support NCC’s strategic direction
  • Staying current with emerging tech and industry trends within your domain.

 

Solution Development

  • High-level solution design aligned with domain objectives and NCC overall direction
  • Hands-on solution design review and decision support to ensure solution development aligned with the bigger picture and strategic priorities.

 

Business Operations

  • Major incidents and change (CAB/ECAB) support in impact analysis and decisions on resolutions/workarounds
  • Stakeholder support and training on architectural ways of working and questions related to architectural assets.

 

Your profile

You have several years of experience working with enterprise architecture and have excellent business and IT stakeholder management skills. We believe that you have an academic level of education. Possibly a degree in IT or other relevant education. We see it as positive if you have a certification within enterprise architecture, but a proven track record of applying architectural knowledge is more important. You have a good knowledge of processes in large companies. You are fluent in English and one of the Nordic languages, both verbally and written.

You will be very important for us in our strategic journey, and we think that you have:

  • Experience of working with enterprise architecture in large organizations, with large portfolios/programs, specific initiatives as well as guiding agile teams
  • Experience from architecture deliverables, governance and design processes on target, conceptual and solution level
  • The ability to take main responsibility, lead and drive assignments within relevant areas
  • An agile mindset and experience from combining enterprise architecture with agile principles and team-based deliveries

  • Have excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills that build trust and manage expectations
  • Have excellent communication skills enabling you to easily explain and make sense of complex contexts, ideas or challenges
  • Are a driven team player, great at collaborating within your team as well as with business and IT roles in other teams and business areas
  • Have a value driven and pragmatic approach, yet guard-railing the strategic direction
  • Have a great overall architectural understanding, seeing patterns and opportunities in complex contexts
  • Have excellent self-leadership
  • Have a curious learning mindset, constantly looking to develop your skills and seek new ways to improve your work.

 

Additional information

This position is preferably located at our headquarters in Solna, Stockholm, but for the right fit the role could also operate from other major cities in Sweden and the other Nordic countries. Travelling may be required, although we strive to collaborate digitally when applicable.

In accordance with NCCs safety culture we conduct background checks on final candidates.

You will be reporting to the IT Competence Manager whilst working cross-functions in the Enterprise Architecture Practice driven by the Lead Enterprise Architect who are the position’s functional manager.
