As Purchasing Development Manager you will play a key role in developing and implementing the purchasing strategy and agenda for category management, as well as provide strategic analysis and advice to managers and team members in Category Management. The role and key responsibilities 

As Purchasing Development Manager, you will work at the intersection of setting and implementing strategy, methods and processes for Category management. You will work cross-functionally with stakeholders throughout the organization and be a key player to secure the right development and drive transformation, enabling achievement of goals and drive impactful changes. You will also define, set and secure the direction of digitalization for Category Management toghether with the purchasing digitalization team. 

You will work closely with, and report to, the Head of Category Management – Petra Sjögren, and you will be part of the Nordic Category Management leadership team.  

Your main responsibilities include

  • Plan, lead, and deliver prioritized strategic initiatives and activities within purchasing for Category management  

  • Analyze internal data and external market trends to identify and define strategic issues. 

  • Define and implement purchasing processes, models and aligning tools  

  • Develop and follow up on relevant reports, KPIs, and goals to drive strategic direction. 

  • Coach and support managers in purchasing development and communication, including strengthening messages and preparing presentations for the management team. 

 

About Purchasing at NCC 

NCC Purchasing is a network of professionals across the Nordics. We handle everything from project purchasing and supplier base development to strategic sourcing and category management. Your experience and background 

We are looking for a person who is proactive, result-oriented and who has a structured approach to work. You have a strong collaborative mindset with a focus on building relationships across functions. We also see that you are analytical, detail-oriented and able to handle complexity in strategic and operational tasks.  

It is furthermore important that you embrace self-leadership and have an exceptional drive and ‘get it done’ mentality and don’t hesitate to try different approaches to find your way forward. Communicating complexity in a crisp and clear way comes natural to you, and we believe you have a great ability to quickly “connect the dots” and connect independent issues to the bigger picture.  

 

Requirements specification: 

  • M.Sc or B.Sc in business administration, economics, data analysis, construction engineering, or equivalent. 

  • 2-5 years of experience in strategy, operational development or related roles. 

  • Experience in strategic planning, performance management, and/or project management. 

  • Strong analytical skills: able to interpret data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable strategies. 

  • Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities. 

  • High business acumen and ability to influence in ambiguous environments. 

  • Great at stakeholder management  

  • Fluent in English as well as one of the Nordic languages both spoken and written.

Additional information 

This position is based in one of NCC’s main offices in Sweden, and requires regular travel. However, we encourage flexible working and digital collaboration whenever possible. As part of NCC's safety culture, background checks will be conducted for final candidate
