High temperatures used to be a must
Until now, high temperatures were a prerequisite to creating asphalt strong enough for highways etc. Most of the asphalt produced for, and laid on, Swedish roads is produced at high temperatures. This means that aggregate and bitumen are heated and mixed at high temperatures.
