NCC has a strong financial positionand solid potential to expand its operations, provided that the market outlook does not deteriorate significantly. The aim is to grow organically in existing markets and supplement this growth with acquisitions, mainly in Norway and Finland.
NCC aims to achieve profitable growth and be a leading player in the markets in which it is active. Being a leading player entails being among the top three companies in the industry in terms of profitability and volumes.
Three businesses
NCC operates three businesses with different business concepts.
An industrial business with a process-oriented focus operated under NCC Roads’aggregate and asphalt production. This business is capitalintensive since it ties up capital in pits and quarries, as well asin aggregates and asphalt works, which have high fixed costs.
A construction and civil engineering business operated under NCC’s Construction units. This business requires little tied-up capital, has a strong cash flow and is projectoriented.
A development business operated under NCC Housing and NCC Property Development. This business ties up considerable capital in properties held for future developmentand ongoing projects. The development business is transactionoriented and faces a greatermarket risk than NCC’s other businessessince it takes many years to deliver a project from the time the land is initially acquired.
